Just before I went on a short 2 and a half week traveling trip to New York, Spain and France, I was contacted by my friend Joel, the Managing Director of Abel Alarm, a security and alarm company with its main office in Leicester. Abel currently has 13 branches nationwide and has been trading since 1965 and was originally set up by Joel’s Grandad so is a true family run business. Joel told me the company were working on a new promotional magazine and wanted to get some candid portrait photos asking if this was my kind of area – of course, was my answer! Joel had me booked in for the shoot as soon as I was back, the day after I got back in fact. I photographed 2 brand new vans they had recently purchased, the R&D department – all those light up Abel boxes you see outside buildings are all made by hand here – an engineer working on a site and finally some shots of staff working in the office.
The magazine itself.
